Vest Opens Vest Digital Media Division
New capabilities added to meet demands of a growing client base, company execs say
Vest, a $16 million advertising agency with 20 years in the Louisville market, has made the jump into new media with the opening of Vest Digital Media, its new video, audio and web development studio.
Built this year as a part of the agency's Jeffersontown complex, Vest Digital Media allows clients full-service commercial photography, a state-of-the art audio and video recording studio, website design and development, television and radio advertising production, as well as social media applications such as podcasting, webinar and vodcast products.
Larry Vest, who co-founded the agency with his wife Rita in 1989, noted that the agency made the investment in new media to offer better options to clients. "Most agencies, when it's time to shoot a commercial, make a video or even record a radio spot, they have to hire an outside production team and rent studio space, which balloons their costs. Now, we have an in-house studio that records audio and video alike. Our audio facilities are as good as any of the local radio production houses?even good enough for recording bands. We have web developers and programmers who can create great online solutions for clients. We have the resources now to offer high-quality creative, and keep client costs in line, too," he said.
In addition to the construction of the studio, Vest added Matt Ooley as director of Multimedia Marketing and Joe Cullen Brown as director of Audio. Brown is the former owner of Radio Joe Amazing Sound Productions, one of the area's foremost radio production studios, which was sold in 2000. Ooley is former photojournalist turned ad agency web specialist, who manages the agency's video and digital media projects. Vest Digital Media has a flexible staff of programmers, web developers, photographers, videographers and production crew, all working seamlessly with the account staff and designers at the agency.
Larry Vest was quick to note that most companies have heard about what new media tools like online public relations, video, podcasts, advertising and social media can do for their business. "Many companies are intimidated by the process or feel it's beyond them," Vest said. "We can offer them the production services they need. But, because we're a full service agency, we can also provide the kind of strategic planning and tracking they need to get the job done right," he added.

We've always offered clients the ability to do video, as well as tv and broadcast advertising. The difference now is, we can offer a much bigger array of services, more cheaply than ever before.
Larry Vest, founder of Vest AdvertisingWe have the capacity to handle the big clients, but we can offer these services to small companies, too. And that's a big deal. I think there are a lot of small to medium sized companies out there that think these mediums are too expensive and complicated, and that they can't they can't take advantage of them. But they can, and should.
Matt Ooley, Director of MultimediaThere are so many applications for these services, I think the business community has hardly even scratched the surface of what they can do. Imagine being able to go to a doctor's website, and watch a video of him, talking about his philosophy and mission...before you decide to become a patient. Imagine being able to see the inventory at the corner store, before you make the trip. Imagine a company CEO sending a video message to employees, or blogging to key customers, whenever important business changes occur. The applications are endless, and we're excited to be able to offer these new solutions for all kinds of companies.
