Sometimes, it really is an honor just to be nominated.

This year, nearly every employee at Vest attended Business First's lavish Business of the Year awards dinner--a black tie affair known as the "Academy Awards" of the Louisville business community. While we anxiously waited to see if we won the top spot, we were all too happy with our position among the top three finalists.

Though Vest has grown approximately 300 percent in the last three years, the prize is awarded for more than just sales. It looks at the company's management practices, the loyalty of its staff, the soundness of its business plan and community involvement.

"Just being named as a finalist is a real thrill for us," said Rita Vest, president of Vest. "When you consider that the advertising business in general is in a depression of unprecedented depth, it is truly incredible we have seen such growth and success. I have to hand the credit for that success right back to our people. We have the best team now that we have ever had. They have really helped take the company to the next level, and I think, a step ahead of the competition," she added.

Vest was also quick to point out the role of our clients in our success. "We've been very lucky to have clients that have believed in us, and stayed with us for so many years. They are what makes all this possible. Keeping our existing clients happy is what is driving the new business through the door, ultimately," she said.
