They've performed at the Wynton Marsalis Jazz Festival. They've been the subject of their own documentary on HBO, "The Little Band that Roared." They've been described by the Louisville Courier-Journal's arts critic as "the best arts ticket in town." And they've done all this with performers from second to fifth grade.

Such is the magic of the Louisville Leopard Percussionists, a children's performing arts group that started in the 1990s and has risen to prominence as one of the nation's shining examples of arts education. So when the Louisville Leopard Percussionists approached Vest to donate cash and pro-bono advertising for their February 22nd "Big Gig" at the Brown Theater, yes was really the only reasonable answer.

Vest created the show poster for the Big Gig, which is considered the group's signature show of the year. The audience was standing room only at the show, and as sponsors, Vest had front row seats for an outstanding performance. "It's amazing to me to see how small these kids are, but how accomplished and disciplined they are. I am so proud that we were part of making that performance happen," said Larry Vest, chief operating officer at Vest.

Kids who join Louisville Leopards practice twice a week, every week, and travel extensively to perform. By the time they graduate from the program, they will have learned how to play every kind of percussion instrument by ear, from the marimba, to the drum kit, to bongos and a huge variety of hand-held percussion instruments.

"It's great having these two on the team," said Ooley. "We have several clients now who need website design and ongoing support. Having a larger in-house staff really helps us take our service to a whole new level," he said.
