Did you know Vest Advertising also owns its own record label? One Horse Records, which produces full-scale commercial albums out of its on-site digital media studio, just released its second artist, Audrey Cecil. The label threw a CD release party at the Vernon that was the hot ticket of the weekend.

"Audrey is one of those artists that really has the potential to go places," said Joe Brown, Director of Audio for Vest and producer for her new CD. "She's already a well known artist locally, and has been breaking regionally with tour stops all over the South and Midwest. She's starting to get radio pickup too, especially on the adult contemporary stations like WFPK-FM in Louisville. Her songs have an indie, rock/folk sensibility that really appeals to people. Her lyrics are terrific...smart, soulful, and original," he said.

To promote Audrey, One Horse created an album, produced and hung posters, launched a PR campaign, organized the release party, created her CD and T-shirt art, and produced a custom website, MySpace and Facebook page. As she tours, One Horse will continue to provide PR support. Her CDs and downloads are sold at onehorserecords.com, Amazon, iTunes, CD Baby and lala.com, as well as the venues during her shows and exclusive retailers such as ear X-tacy.

"There are other labels in town, but many of them are like a vanity press. We wanted to be more–a true full service label for the new millennium," said Cody Vest, who is overseeing the new label. "We're putting together the resources we already have in-house, and putting them to work for the artist at a price they can afford. Our goal is to help the best of the Louisville music scene get the word out about their work, without a lot of the baggage you get from the traditional record label model," he added.
